Halloween really isn't my most favorite holiday in the whole world...in fact I'm pretty sure I could skip it just fine. But boy, when I get those kiddos into some cute little costumes, just the pictures become totally worth it!! Faith and Ethan - er - Tinkerbell and Peter Pan had a great time trick or treating this year and were even fully cooperative with their costumes! I took the kids out to my parents house and we had fun making the loop from there to my aunt's house and back. Ethan didn't understand the whole concept at first. We tried to practice before we headed out, but he just cried when he wasn't given the candy he felt he had rightfully earned by saying "please". At the first house, he started crying almost immediately as we walked up to the door. After repeated prompts to get him to say "Trick or treat", the nice lady at the door cut the kid a break and gave him a piece of candy anyways. He stopped crying immediately...and then walked in her front door! (We'll have to work on that whole stranger danger thing...) After that it was easy. Ethan would run to the door, yell "candy" while the other kids recited the more accepted line and then politely say "thank you" after collecting his earnings. The whole thing was really too cute for words. So besides everyone thinking my little Peter Pan was Robin Hood, it was a great night and the kids had a bunch of fun!
